| Short Term Effects Of Smoking |
Question:
What are the short term effects of smoking?
Answer:
Besides bad breath, increase in blood pressure and heart rate? The effects of smoking are long-term, not short-term. In the short-term,
the body is generally able to recover and cleanse the lungs. No one is
claiming that breathing second-hand smoke occasionally is going to give
them cancer.
However, you're not the only smoker, and without clean air regulations in
place, non-smokers get exposed to the smoke on a long-term basis, not a
short-term one. The other thing you appear to be neglecting to consider is
the aggregate effect second-hand smoke will have. It takes time for the
lungs to clean out the tar that coats them when smoke is inhaled.
