Quit Smoking
Question:
I'm having one hell of a time trying to quit smoking. Need some ideas and help.

Answer:
One of the strangest experiences I've endured in life is being amazed in wonder why I couldn't quit shoving a cig in my mouth and lighting up, even when I was coughing my guts up with pneumonia. Bottom line is the only way I have found to have any luck is cold turkey. Using any of the nicotine patches or gum just prolongs the eventual need to stop the drug input. The other thing is simply the desire to quit. Make whatever excuse you want, if you don't really want to quit it won't happen. Cost is a helpful incentive these days. We figured we were saving over $1000 a year. Everything helps. Aversion therapy (smoking 3-5 cigarettes till you puke), nicotine gum & patch. Setting a quit date 3 weeks in the future, and contemplating lifestyle change. Making a record of each cigarette you smoke, how you feel and why you are smoking it. Getting a cush ball, pen, or something to fondle in place of a smoke.
